We were teaching a family who had been less active for a long time. They were grandparents and guardians to their 9-year-old granddaughter, Olympia. We’d been over to visit with them a few times and could feel that they wanted to come back to church. That particular Sunday was Stake Conference and they came(!) and sat with us. Olympia was sitting right beside me. I remember that she gave me a cute little sticker that I put on the back of my name badge. I wrote in my pocket journal about singing “I Need Thee Every Hour” (Ich Brauch Dich Alleziet) with Olympia sitting there beside me earnestly singing along. I couldn’t help but think about the message, what it meant to me, and how it could bless her. THAT is why I was a missionary. Simple but profound experiences like that changed me forever.
