Here at The Yellow Mailbox, we have a special spot in our hearts for you.
We are sisters (as in siblings) who have served as sister missionaries or supported missionaries as sisters, friends, moms, and aunts. We served in the early and mid-1990s.
Looking back, we each have so many joyful memories of our time as missionaries! However, some weeks in the mission field were very difficult.
A wise companion gave me (Maria) a beautiful pocket journal. She said, "Jot down only the wonderful, funny, joyful, awesome! things that happen in the course of the day--Just the one-liner prompts that recall the story." I didn't realize it at the time, but doing so helped me to focus on the positive when times got tough.
On difficult days, opening the pocket journal immediately lifted my spirits and restored my eternal perspective. It became one of my most precious keepsakes.
